HARA Fall Workshop Series - FREE for students!

On behalf of the Hawai‘i Academy of Recording Arts’ (HARA) Board of Governors we’d like to invite you to attend our Fall Workshop Series, taking place on Saturday, October 12th at the Modern Honolulu Hotel – Sun Suite.  These workshops are presented in partnership with the Hawai‘i International Film Festival (HIFF) and funding provided by the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT).

Three workshops will start at 10:00 am and continue to about 4:30 pm, the topics listed below:

Royalties - How Do I Get Paid?
This workshop will provide background information on performance rights societies (ASCAP, BMI, SoundExchange, etc.) and why they are important.
Panelists:  Richard Bellis, Bill Meyer, Bob Nelson, and Jeff Peterson

Marketing and Promotion Part 1 - Social Media
#WhatAreHashTagsFor?  This workshop will focus on the use of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media vehicles, and how to maximize the use of these while increasing exposure and reach.
Panelists:  Melissa Chang, Russ Sumida, Nicholas Terzo,

Marketing and Promotion Part 2 - Promotion
This workshop will focus on creative promotion strategies that will assist the artists in creating a presence within the community and the importance of the image that the artist presents.
Panelists:  Tracy Laurra, Yumi Ozaki, and Nicholas Nerzo

The workshop series are FREE to HARA members and students, and at $10 to non–members and for the general public.
